The discourse in Himachal Pradesh currently revolves around contrasting views: यह सुख की सरकार है while Congress claims it’s a government of comfort, the general public perceives it as a government causing distress. On one hand, the Punjab government asserts that people needn’t come to the government; instead, the government will reach their doorsteps upon calling 1076, sending officials to resolve issues. Conversely, in Himachal, officials seem reluctant not only to listen to the public but also टो public representatives. Perhaps these officials have decided to defame the government(,under hidden agenda) finding success in it. Whether it’s a issue of power, water, law and order, or traffic fines, officials seem more engrossed in enjoying DJ music through earphones than addressing the public’s grievances. Amidst the winter, electricity is crucial, yet frequent power cuts persist without resolution, despite Himachal being a state known for its electricity generation, leaving people without power. One of our seniors journalist wrote that :-
On one hand, the government is in Kangra for the assembly session and even in the presence of the government, how alert is the electricity department of the state. If you want to see an example of this, you will have to go to Maranda, where every Sunday is a government holiday and every Monday is a department holiday, but if the matter ends here too, then there is no problem, despite all this, there is no point in imposing a cut of two hours in the whole week. Even after making higher officials aware of the problem, not taking any action raises bigger questions on the department.
