Depot holders strike in Punjab from January 1,2024.
82 crore people across the country will not get ration; Rally in Delhi on 16th
The National Organization of Depot Holders claims that from January 1, 82 crore people in the country will stop getting government ration. 6 lakh depot holders of the country will go on strike. These include 18 thousand depot holders of Punjab. Their demand is that if there can be ‘one country-one ration card’ then why can’t the commission given to depot holders be the same across the country.
Depot holders will hold a rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on January 16 and then surround the Parliament, demanding equal commission across the country.
Karmjit Singh Adecha, (अड़ेचा) head of the Punjab unit of All India Fair Price Shop Dealers Federation, has said that depot holders will go on strike in all the states of the country from January 1, 2024. During this period, no depot holder will neither pick up the ration coming from the government nor deliver it to the people. They will express his anger by switching off biometric machines.
