**International Women’s Day celebrated at Sri Sai University, Palampur*.
Vice Chancellor of Sai University Palampur Prof. Ashok Saryal said in his message on the occasion of International Women’s Day, ” Maa ke Saath Mamta milti, Baihan se milta hamesha dulaar, Nari Shakti ko pujniya samjho, ye lgati jeevan ki Naiya paar” .
International Women’s Day was organized in the University in collaboration with Himalayan Queer Foundation on the theme ‘Global Sanitation and Mental Health’.
Ms. Shivani Sharma, Nodal Officer of Red Ribbon Club welcomed the guests of Himalayan Queer Foundation and University. Highlighting the important contributions of women, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. N.N. Sharma in his address told the gathering that there were 15 women in the 299 member Constituent Assembly who advocated for an India which has the imprint of both the genders. . “There can be no health without mental health,” said Mr Don, co-director of the Himalayan Queer Foundation. He said Creative solutions are needed to tackle the root causes of deteriorating mental health. Ms. Shivani Sharma, Nodal Officer thanked the officials of Himalayan Queer Foundation for their cooperation. She appreciated the initiative of Himalayan Queer Foundation and expressed hope for such progressive and useful events in the near future. All the students and teachers of the university were present on this occasion.
