Early Life and Education
Dr. Shweta Sood was born and brought up in Palampur town in a well learned educationist family .Her mother Mrs Shushma Sood was a lecturer in education department, and her father Mr Bharat Sood retired as deputy Director from the education department of Himachal Pradesh. From the very beginning she was a brilliant student and the educationist family background left a deep impression on her career. She completed her primary education at a local school and later pursued a degree in veterinary science. Her deep interest in veterinary medicine led her to enroll in a prestigious veterinary college in Delhi, where she earned her master’s degree.
Professional Achievements
Dr. Sweta Sood began her career as a government veterinarian and quickly made a name for herself through her dedication and hard work. She led several key projects, focusing on poultry health and disease management.
Award Ceremony
The India International Poultry Expo 2024 was held in Pune, where prominent veterinary experts and poultry industry representatives from across the country and abroad gathered. At this grand ceremony, Dr. Shweta Sood was awarded the ‘Best Influential Female Veterinarian Award 2024’.

It is pertinent to mention here that Mr Bharat Sood is not only a renowned educationist but he is also a great social worker of Palampur and Kangra region and even after his retirement he is devoting his full time to social service and is associated with various social organizations viz Rotary Eye Foundation Bharat Vikas Parishad ,Rotary Club Palampur etc etc.
He is also the patron of Sood Sabha Palampur. All the members of Sood Sabha Palampur have also sent him congratulatory messages for his daughter reaching this milestone.
