Tree Plantation Drive by Merchant Navy Officers Parent Welfare Society: A Step Towards a Greener Tomorrow

Palampur, 6 Aug.2024: The Merchant Navy Officers Parent Welfare Society organized a grand tree plantation drive, “Van Mahotsav”, in New Palampur today. The society members planted Deodar saplings and promoted the “Ek Ped Mere Naam” campaign, emphasizing the importance of individual responsibility towards environmental conservation. 

D.S. Chaudhary, President of the society, emphasized, “Although we have planted a limited number of trees, our responsibility extends to nurturing and protecting them. We guarantee the survival of all planted trees and commit to providing necessary care, including fertilizers and protection from animals. This initiative is a small step towards a larger goal of creating a sustainable future.”

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from society members, who came together to make a positive impact on the environment. Renowned social worker Rajiv Jamwal generously offered his land for the plantation, earning appreciation from the members.
