In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Punjab government has transferred eight IAS officers, including six Deputy Commissioners (DCs). Notably, 2014-batch IAS officer Komal Mittal has been appointed as the new DC of Mohali, succeeding Aashika Jain, who will now serve as the DC of Hoshiarpur. Mittal previously held the position of DC in Hoshiarpur and has experience as the Additional Deputy Commissioner in Mohali during 2022. Upon assuming her new role, Mittal emphasized her commitment to implementing the Punjab government’s flagship programs, combating drug abuse, ensuring transparency in governance, and addressing issues related to unplanned urban development and illegal constructions.

Other key transfers include Poonamdeep Kaur, who has been appointed as the DC of Faridkot, and T Benith, now serving as the DC of Barnala. Additionally, Viraj Shyamkarn Tidke has been designated as the DC of Malerkotla. These changes aim to enhance administrative efficiency and governance across the state.
