New Delhi/Jharkhand, March 19, 2025: Renowned astronaut and Indian-origin scientist Sunita Williams made a triumphant return to Earth on Saturday after successfully completing her latest space mission. The nation celebrated her homecoming with pride, while her ancestral state of Jharkhand honored her with a traditional “Johar” (a tribal greeting), symbolizing respect and admiration.

Sunita Williams, who conducted critical research aboard the International Space Station (ISS) as part of her NASA mission, received global acclaim for her contributions. The Indian government released a statement highlighting her achievements, saying, “Sunita Williams has not only advanced scientific exploration but also carried India’s legacy into space.
