Sood Sabha Chandigarh organised “Mango Festival 2025″at Sood Bhawan, Sector 10, Panchkula. On July 13, Sunday, the annual “Mango Festival 2025” was held, where over 100 Sood families from Tricity Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula, and surrounding areas, gathered to savor various delicious mango varieties. The event also featured a Tambola game for life members. A mango-eating competition for senior citizens, women, and children was a major attraction.
Sood Sabha Chandigarh’s President, Shri Ashwani Sood, General Secretary, Shri Sudhir Sood, and Finance Secretary, Shri Khushwinder Sood, addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of Sood community traditions, specially the tradition of organising annual mango festival which is being continuously organised by Sood Sabha Chandigarh for last more than 70 years.
The organizing committee for Mango Mela 2025 included Shri Sandeep Sood, Shri Lokesh Sood, Shri Sumit Sood, Shri Sanjay Sood, Shri Deepak Sood, and Shri Mukesh Sood.
Sood Sabha Chandigarh’s Press Secretary, Shri Sachin Sood, and Joint Secretary Press, Sh. Mukesh Sood, stated that the Sabha has been organizing the contributory Mango Festival every year during the monsoon season, which is well-attended by the Sood community from Tricity and surrounding cities.
They mentioned that the Mango Festival has been a tradition since before the formation of Sood Sabha in 1959, when its founding members would gather with their families, bringing mangoes from their homes. In essence, the Mango Festival is the foundation of Sood Sabha.
The event saw immense enthusiasm among seniors, children, and all attendees, highlighting the importance of such gatherings to promote social interaction and community bonding, away from mobile phones and TVs.”
