Tri City Times | Palampur — Palampur’s pride, Air Commodore Rohit Kapil, son of Mr. R.C. Kapil,(former Deputy Commisioner Kullu), has been conferred with the prestigious Yudh Seva Medal for his exceptional leadership and operational brilliance.

Currently serving as AOC, 45 Wing (Sirsa), Air Commodore Kapil played a pivotal role in planning offensive operations and demonstrating unmatched expertise in air defence. Under his command, a BARAK-8 Surface-to-Air Missile system successfully intercepted and destroyed a Fateh ballistic missile launched to target Delhi — a decisive action that safeguarded countless lives.

A seasoned Su-30MKI fighter pilot, he has earlier commanded a full Su-30MKI squadron, earning respect for his operational acumen and strategic foresight.

The honour stands as a testament to his courage, skill, and dedication to the nation, making Palampur beam with pride.
