In the wake of the massive floods and landslides that ravaged Himachal Pradesh this year, Sood Sabha Chandigarh has stepped forward with a generous contribution of ₹1 lakh (₹1,00,000) to the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The cheque was presented to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Shri Gokul Butail.
Present on the occasion were Mr. Sudhir Sood, General Secretary; Sh. Ashwani Doegar, Patron; and Sh. Kapil Goel, Senior Vice President of Sood Sabha Chandigarh.
Mr. Sudhir Sood briefed the Chief Minister about the Sabha’s ongoing social initiatives such as blood donation camps, education for underprivileged children, and diagnostic and physiotherapy centres at Panchkula and Chandigarh Sood Bhawan run on a “No Profit No Loss” basis.
Highlighting the Sabha’s consistent efforts in community service, Mr. Sood mentioned that the organization had also recently contributed ₹1 lakh to the Punjab CM Relief Fund.
He added that the recent natural calamities across India have caused immense suffering and destruction. “While the losses cannot be recovered immediately, it is our moral responsibility to support the affected. Every citizen and organization should come forward and contribute as much as possible,” he said.
Members of the Sabha also emphasized the need for more tree plantation drives and environmental conservation efforts to prevent such natural disasters in the future.
