Apple Juice : All popular brands sold in USA have been said to contain high level of arsenic which is the result of excessive use of pesticides for apple crop in a particular country.
Ginseng : A lot of ginseng used in USA comes from a country responsible for this and in the study it has been found that this root crop contains traces of chemical and pesticide in varying amounts that are known to be bad for human body.
Table Salt : This salt coming from this country often contains traces of metals and substances that human should never consume.
Watermelons like apples have been found to be covered with pesticides for longer life.
Noodles: One would like to use rice noodles as they taste good. However there are noodle factories that put sulphur dioxide in the product. Sulphur dioxide is said to be associated with cancer in the past.
Milk imported by some countries is said to have contained melamine which might wreck havoc on human kidneys.
Some samples of shrimp are said to contain chloramphenicol, nitrofurazone and enrofloxacin, the substances which are found in illegal antibioitics. This country 13.1 KG of pesticides per hectare which is highest in the world and experts say that they exceed safe limit.
Use of pesticides have also increased in India which is proving to be a health hazard . Our Government is aware of increased use of pesticides in crops and thus promoting organic farming and it is heartening to note that number of organic farm operation in India is around 650000, some say the highest in the world.
If we want healthy India we have to adopt organic farming in a big way and the government must come forward to incentivise such endeavours.
