Five New Crop Varieties by Farm Scientists:Gazette of India notifies CSK HPAU crop varieties for pan India: The scientists of CSK H.P. Agriculture University have developed five new crop varieties which have been notified in the Gazette of India.
This was disclosed by Prof H.K.Chaudhary, Vice-Chancellor today.

The Vice-Chancellor told that newly developed crop varieties include Him Palam Maize Composite-1 of Maize; Him Palam Gobhi Sarson-1 of Gobhi Sarson; Him Palam White Clover-1 of White Clover; Him Palam Hara Soya-1 of Soybean and Trombay Him Palam Mustard -1 of Mustard.
He informed that the Maize variety “Him Palam Maize Composite-1” is recommended for hill zone of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya and has shown resistance towards diseases. While the oilseed variety viz. Him Palam Gobhi Sarson-1 has substantially low levels of anti-nutritional factors like erucic acid and glucosinolates. It is recommended for H.P., Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. New mustard variety ‘Trombay Him Palam Mustard-1′ is tolerant towards aphids. Soybean variety Him Palam Hara Soya-1 is resistant to major diseases of Soybean. New fodder variety Him Palam White Clover-1 is recommended for temperate grasslands, pastures and orchards of North-Hill zone of H.P. and neighboring State of Uttrakhand and U.T. of Jammu & Kashmir .
Vice Chancellor Professor H.K. Chaudhary has congratulated the University scientists viz. Drs. S.K.Guleria, Uttam Chand, Adarsh Bala, V.K. Sood and Vedna Kumari and also Dr. S. J. Jambhulkar from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai for this significant research accomplishment at the state and national level. He has expressed hope that the farmers would adopt the newly developed varieties to increase their yield and income. These varieties have been notified in the Gazette of India on 24 December 2021.
