Rotary Club Palampur Sets New Benchmark in Community Service

: Rotary Club Palampur continues to shine as a beacon of selfless service and social commitment in the Kangra Valley. With a series of impactful initiatives launched over the past months, the club has once again proven that dedicated teamwork can bring meaningful change to society.
Under the dynamic leadership of President , Surinder Mohan Tata and Secretary Rajesh Sood Rotary Palampur has undertaken a range of community welfare projects. One of the most noteworthy efforts has been their continued work in the field of eye care. In collaboration with Rotary Eye Foundation and local hospitals, the club recently organized a free eye check-up and cataract surgery camp that benefited over 250 senior citizens from underprivileged backgrounds. Many of the patients were restored to full vision — a gift beyond measure.
Additionally, the club has been actively supporting educational institutions in rural areas. Donations of desks, chairs, and smart classroom equipment have transformed learning environments in government schools around Palampur and nearby villages. Recently, Rotary Palampur also launched a special “Hygiene Awareness Drive” in collaboration with local health officials, distributing sanitary kits and educating hundreds of schoolgirls about menstrual health.
In a significant environmental push, the club has planted over 2,000 trees in the past year as part of its “Green Palampur” initiative. Rotarians, school children, and volunteers together participated in these drives, fostering a spirit of eco-consciousness in the community.
President Surinder Mohan Tata expressed gratitude to all members and supporters, saying, “Our mission is to serve humanity, and each project we take up is a step toward a healthier, more educated, and greener Palampur.”
