Himachal Pradesh Witnesses Massive Traffic Congestion on Bhai Dooj
Shimla, November 6 – Himachal Pradesh experienced unprecedented traffic congestion on Sunday evening as the festival of Bhai Dooj marked the culmination of the festive Diwali season. Major districts in the hill state, including Kangra, Una, and Hamirpur, were plagued by massive gridlocks, leaving commuters stranded for hours.
The traffic jam, which stretched for approximately 35 kilometers, caused immense discomfort to travelers, especially under the scorching sun. Even short journeys that typically take mere minutes took hours to complete.
The affected districts witnessed significant traffic congestion due to the influx of tourists and locals traveling for the festive season. The state’s narrow roads and increasing vehicular traffic exacerbated the situation.
Authorities have been urged to implement effective traffic management systems to mitigate such congestion during peak holiday seasons.
