Sood Sabha Chandigarh Honours Mount Everest Summiteer Navdeep Sood
Chandigarh, June 8, 2025:
Sood Sabha Chandigarh organised a grand felicitation ceremony today at Sood Bhawan, Sector 44-A, Chandigarh to honour Sh. Navdeep Sood of Panchkula, who successfully scaled Mount Everest on 19th May 2025. The event celebrated his extraordinary achievement and spirit of perseverance, especially as he accomplished this remarkable feat at the age of 59.
The event was presided over by the patron of the Sabha, Sh. Umesh Sood, along with President Sh. Ashwani Sood, General Secretary Sh. Sudhir Sood, and Finance Secretary Sh. Khushvinder Sood. All Executive Members of the Sabha were present in full support.
Prominent dignitaries including Smt. Sarita Sood, wife of Sh. Navdeep Sood; Sh. Umesh Sood, Vice President, BJP Panchkula; and Mrs. Sonia Sood, Municipal Councillor, Panchkula, also graced the occasion.
Speaking to the media, Sh. Sachin Sood, Publicity Secretary, and Sh. Mukesh Sood, Joint Publicity Secretary, said, “Sh. Navdeep Sood is not just a source of pride for the Sood community but a true inspiration for the entire nation. His story proves that age is no barrier to chasing dreams.”
During his address, Sh. Navdeep Sood shared the challenges he faced—physically, mentally, and financially—in preparing for this expedition. He recounted how he took the difficult decision of resigning from his post as AGM at SBI to dedicate himself fully to the mission. He also highlighted the unwavering support of his wife, Smt. Sarita Sood, who even accompanied him to the Everest Base Camp and stood by him throughout the journey as a constant source of motivation.
Encouraging others, he said, “If I can achieve it, you can too.” His message struck a chord with the gathering and left everyone inspired.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a standing ovation for Sh. Navdeep Sood’s remarkable courage, determination, and indomitable spirit.
