Palampur, August 16, 2024: Vivekananda Medical Institute, Palampur, has announced its complete solidarity with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in condemning the heinous rape and murder of a young lady doctor.
As a mark of protest and to share the anguish of medical colleagues across the nation, the institute has decided to suspend its OPD (Outpatient Department) services from 6 am on August 17, 2024, to 6 am on August 18, 2024.
However, emergency services will continue to function uninterrupted, ensuring uninterrupted care for critical patients.
This spontaneous reaction demonstrates the medical fraternity’s collective outrage and demand for justice and safety for healthcare professionals.
