Under the CSIR Floriculture mission, CSIR-IHBT organised a garden development program in five schools.
Around 550 ornamental plants were planted in Govt. Primary School Malainta; Dhared; Govt. Senior secondary school, Palampur; Gwaltikkar; Govt. High School Sarsawa of Dist. Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. In the program plants include Nerium, Thuja, Green cypress, Golden cypress, Schefflera, Plumeria, Dracena, Spiderplant, Pencilpine, Eranthemum, Jatropha, Box wood, Hydrangea, Tacoma etc. Around 250 students, teachers and other staff members were actively involved in the development of the gardens. The Principal and teachers of all the schools have expressed their appreciation to the Institute Director and the mission staff for their work
